The governor of the state of Benue, Hyacinth alia, Wednesday, dissolved the state executive council (sec).

Alia announced the dissolution in a declaration signed by his head of press, Mr. Tersoo Kula, and made available to journalists in Makurdi.

Kula said that the governor informed members of the Council of dissolution at the end of the 12th (2025) meeting of the century.

The secretary of the chief press said that the governor ordered the commissioners to deliver the permanent secretaries of their ministries as soon as possible.

He appreciated all the former commissioners who worked with him for two years and urged those who may not be recognized, to remain in the party.

He said that those who would not have been recognized are only by opening the way to other citizens to contribute to their share to the development of the state.

In the meantime, the governor has approved the immediate appointment of Moses Atagar, a legal practitioner, as a new chief of staff to replace Mr. Paul Biam.

Kula said that Atagher is a former general prosecutor and commissioner for justice in the state.

Athegher, an expert administrator, is also the former acting director of the Federal Mutual Bank.

Speaking for the dissolved commissioners, the attorney general and the immediate commissioner for justice and public order, Bemsen Mnyim, appreciated the governor for giving them the opportunity to serve the state.

“At every phase of life, wherever you are called to serve it is a school. We have learned a lot as we work with you,” he said.
