The lawyer died while celebrating Ghana’s victory against Panama in the World Cup

A 26-year-old lawyer Sarah Araba Tettey, reportedly suffered a heart attack while celebrating Ghana’s win over Panama in the ongoing FIFA World Cup on Wednesday.

Tettey, an alumnus of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Faculty of Law, was called to the Ghana Bar earlier this year and began practicing with O&A Legal Consult, according to sources familiar with the matter.

He was reportedly watching the match with his friends at Standard Hostel, a private facility located in Bomso near KNUST, when the incident occurred.

Eyewitnesses said he suddenly collapsed during Ghana’s victory celebrations.

Friends and bystanders immediately rushed him to KNUST Hospital, known as Technology Hospital, where medics reportedly performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for about 45 minutes in an attempt to save him.

Despite doctors and nurses’ long efforts, he was pronounced dead soon afterward.

The news of his death has shocked the Ghanaian legal community, especially among members of the KNUST legal fraternity and his colleagues from the Ghana Law School, many of whom knew him personally.

Known as Araba Tettey to her friends and colleagues, she is admired for her professionalism and is considered one of the promising young talents in the legal profession.

His death has left many mourning what they describe as the loss of a bright and promising legal mind.

His body has been kept at the KNUST Medical School mortuary pending further arrangements.

The exact circumstances surrounding his death have not been officially communicated by the family or medical authorities.
