The man anchored because of the alleged N3.4M grocery fraud

The police on Friday charged a 49 -year -old man, Abu Ahmadu, at the Magistrates Ikeja Court in Lagos because of the alleged N3.4 million grocery fraud.

Ahmadu, a businessman, was charged with two accusations to get money under pretense and steal.

However, the defendant claimed to be innocent for the accusation.

Previously, prosecutor, Josephine Ikhayere, told the court that the defendant committed a violation on April 17 at Olusoji Idowu Street, Ilupeju, Lagos.

He said the defendant allegedly obtained food items of N3,410,000 from the complainant, Sanjay Kumarijha.

The prosecutor added that the defendant obtained the item to be resold, generated profits, and sent money to the complainant.

Ikhayere accused that the defendant obtained goods on the grounds of doing business to generate profits, but changed the money for his personal use.

He said the violation was contrary to parts 287 and 314 of the Criminal Law of the State of Lagos, 2012.

Judge, Mr. Lateef Owolabi, provides a guarantee to the defendant in the number of N750,000 with two reliable mushrooms in the same amount.

He postponed this case until July 21 for hearing.
