The Nigerian government confirmed 19 countries affected by the flood

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) said on Friday that at least 19 countries had been influenced by floods this year.

Affected countries are Abia, Adamawa, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Bayelsa, Borno, Edo, Federal Capital Region (FCT), Gombe, IMO, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Kogi, Kogi, Kwara, Niger, Ondo, Rivers, and Sokoto.

The agency dashboard revealed that the states of Abia, Borno, Kaduna, IMO, and Rivers had the highest number of people affected by floods.

According to Nema, 165 people were confirmed dead and 82 was declared missing.

119,791 others are influenced by flooding.

“138 people suffered various levels of injury, 43,936 displaced, 8,594 houses were affected, and 8,278 agricultural land destroyed in 43 regional regions (LGA) in 19 states.”

“A total of 53,314 children, 36,573 women, 24,600 men, 5,304 elderly, and 1,863 people were disabled by flooding.”
