The senator lost the APC primaries in Plateau

Senator representing Plateau Central Senatorial District, Diket Plang failed to secure the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections.

The senatorial district comprises Kanke, Pankshin, Kanam, Bokkos and Mangu Local Government Areas of Plateau State.

The lawmaker lost the APC primaries held in the five LGAs that make up his zone

The Returning Officer for the district, Sadat Garga, announced the results of the polls on Tuesday in Pankshin.

He declared Mr David Barji the winner of the APC senatorial primaries.

Garga said Barji scored 57,727 to defeat Plang who polled 1,423 votes.

“By the authority vested in me as returning officer, I hereby declare Mr David Barji as the winner of the APC primaries for Plateau central senatorial district,” he said.

Garga explained that the primaries were witnessed by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
