The Supreme Reina Lagos team at the National Open Armwrestling Championship, says first place with 19 gold

The Lagos team offered a dominant performance in the National Championship of the Armwrestling Open, winning an impressive medals of Gold, 5 of silver and 4 bronze to finish as the best team in the tournament.

Under the leadership of coach Becky Adamoh, the team showed power, skill and determination, solidifying Lagos as an armor strength in Nigeria.

The National Armwrestling Open Championship, held at the Adamasigba Stadium, Ibadan, brought together more than 120 athletes from all over Nigeria, which makes it one of the most competitive editions of the event.

The championship was not only a battle for national honors, but also served as a selection field for athletes that will represent Nigeria in the 14th Armwrestling Championship in Africa in Abuja, July 2025.

The Lagos team arrived in Ibadan on Friday and left today, on Sunday, after its remarkable performance.

The athletes did not waste their time in making their presence feel, dominating several categories of weight and demonstrating their superiority in the national stage.

Speaking after the championship, coach Adamoh, one of the few coaches leading a superior Armwrestling team, expressed immense pride in the performance of his team and his dedication to sport.

“This victory is the result of hard work, discipline and commitment. Our athletes gave everything, and I am proud of what they have achieved. Winning 19 gold medals is a remarkable feat, and shows that Lagos is completely invested in Armwreestling, ”he said.

Despite the hard team competition in Nigeria, the Lagos team stood out with its technical superiority and its unwavering resistance.

With more than 120 athletes competing fiercely, the championship witnessed exciting battles, but Lagos athletes constantly demonstrated their temper, dominating multiple categories of weight.

Looking towards the future, coach Adinoh said that this victory is just a springboard for greater success.

“This victory motivates us to sign up more. We do not stop here, we are already preparing for the African championship in Abuja. Our goal is to dominate not only in Nigeria but on the continental and global stage, ”he added.

With this excellent performance in the National Armwrestling Open Championship, Team Lagos has firmly established how the team to see in Nigerian Armwrestling.
