Tinubu appointed Bianca as foreign minister

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Mrs Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu as Minister of Foreign Affairs.

This follows Yusuf Tuggar’s resignation from his position.

Tuggar resigned from the Federal Executive Council (FEC) at the end of last month to pursue his ambition to become governor of Bauchi State.

Odumegwu-Ojukwu previously served as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.

This was disclosed by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja.

In the same vein, President Tinubu nominated Amb. Sola Enikanolaiye as Minister of Foreign Affairs, must be confirmed by the Senate.

Until his nomination, Enikanolaiye, from Kogi State served as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and International Relations.

The Presidency described Enikanolaiye as a distinguished diplomat and experienced civil servant with over three decades of service in the Nigerian foreign service.

Previously he served as Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

He also held diplomatic posts in Addis Ababa, Belgrade, Ottawa, London and New Delhi.
