Tinubu arrives in the UK for a state visit

President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday arrived in the UK for an important state visit.

The presidential plane carrying Tinubu’ and his wife, Oluremi, landed at Stansted Airport at 15.23 local time to mark the official start of high-level diplomatic engagements.

Special Advisor to the President for Media and Public Communications, Mr. Sunday Dare, confirmed the development in a post on his verified X handle.

“Timeline: 15:23. President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu touch down at Stansted Airport, England, as their historic visit begins.”

A short video clip accompanying the post shows the presidential plane stopping on the tarmac before the President and First Lady disembark.

The visit is expected to culminate in the signing of several agreements and memoranda of understanding between Nigeria and the UK.

The main sectors targeted for cooperation include trade and investment, energy transition, solid mineral development, and security collaboration.

This state visit also aims to deepen bilateral relations and expand economic and diplomatic engagement between the two countries.
