Tinubu celebrates the leader of Fasoranti Afenifere at 99


President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has paid tribute to the brilliant tribute to the elderly statesman and leader of Afenifere, Pa Reuben Famuyide Fasoranti, while Yoruba’s respectful leader marks his 99th birthday.

In a declaration issued on Saturday 10 May 2025, Tinubu described Fasoranti like a rare Nigerian who dedicated his life to public service, education and progress of the ideals of honor, integrity and progressive governance of Yoruba.

“Today I rejoice in the family, the political partners and friends of our dear father, leader and patriarch, Pa Reuben Famuyide Fasoranti, in celebrating his remarkable 99 -year -old journey on Earth,” said Tinubu.

He praised the exceptional contributions of Baba Fasoranti to education, remembering his time as a teacher, principal and founder of Omolere Nursery School and Akure High School, institutions that are still inheritance today for his commitment for learning and development of the community.

Tinubu also highlighted the political journey of Fasoranti, starting with his association with the Action Group of the Obafemi Awolowo head and subsequently the Unity Party of Nigeria.

He held the role of Commissioner for Finance under the head Michael Adekunle Ajasin in the state of ondo between 1979 and 1983, where he was attributed solid tax management and an effective implementation of key development programs.

The president further praised the courage of the Fausing PA during the military era of Nigeria, in particular his resistance against the dictatorship of the deceased General Sani Abacha through his involvement with pro-democracy groups such as Afenifere and Nadeco.

“Baba’s resilience and his colleagues inspired and strengthened us, the youngest,” said Tinubu.

Reflecting on his personal relationship with the non -agency, Tinubu expressed profound gratitude for the support of favorants during his presidential offer, saying: “When I decided to apply for the presidency, I remain deeply grateful for his blessings, the support without river and the belief in my vision for our country”.

Tinubu concluded his tribute by encouraging the Nigerians to emulate the life of courage, service and leadership of Baba Fasorenti and prayed for the elderly wise elderly in the Nigerian communities.

“Happy birthday to our dear leader and father. They can never miss elderly wise people like Baba Fasoranti,” he said.

He expressed optimism that sustained efforts to plant trees would help make Abeokuta greener, Ogun State healthier and Nigeria more resilient to environmental risks. Badmos reaffirmed NES’s commitment to ongoing support, awareness creation and practical interventions aimed at promoting a cleaner and more sustainable environment.
