He said: “I am confident that this facility will further motivate EFCC staff to rededicate themselves in the fight against economic and financial crimes which remain major obstacles to the progress of our nation.
“This commission has a central position in our economic and national security reports.
“His contribution to tackling cyber terrorism was evident in the dismantling of a foreign-controlled cryptocurrency syndicate in Lagos which resulted in the conviction of 192 foreigners in one operation.
“The Commission has provided resources for important social investment programs such as student loan schemes and consumer credit schemes.
“The EFCC’s recent prosecution of several high-profile corruption cases, including the conviction of a former minister and a former managing director of a national investment bank, sends a clear message that there is no hiding place for the corrupt.
“I urge the EFCC and its sister institution, the ICPC, to maintain the current conditions until corruption can be minimized in our national life.”
Earlier, EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, said the inauguration of the complex was a legal responsibility in carrying out the fight against corruption to the people of Ekiti and Ondo States, including adjoining communities and towns.
“Over the years, coverage of Ekiti and Ondo states by the commission has been only perfunctory due to overlapping responsibilities in far-flung areas, leaving gaps in our law enforcement framework.
“The loophole is now permanently closed with this modern office complex. With this investment, I want to promise that fraudsters will have no hiding place in the zone,” Olukoyede said.
