Trump ordered mass sacks in VOA, other US media organizations

President Donald Trump has ordered staff savings at the Voice of America (VOA) and other government -funded media organizations at Counttry.

A senior official at the US global media body, Kari Lake, said in a statement on Friday that the notification was “an old effort to dismantle the bureaucracy that is swollen and irresponsible.”

The sack notification was sent to 639 workers on Friday, after the previous offer from voluntary departure and the dismissal of the contractor.

President Trump in March issued an order to freeze VOA, the first since the establishment of the organization in 1942.
