US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order aimed at opening the way for the finalization of agreements involving As Tiktok operations, marking the latest steps in the old story of ownership of application and data security.
The order, signed on Thursday, gave a legal framework for transactions to move forward after months of negotiations between the Tiktok parent company in China, Bytedance, and potential American partners.
Trump said that after the National Security Bill imposed by former President Joe Biden mandated that the social media platform digested American operations or facing disposal in the United States, he spoke with and received an agreement from Chinese President Xi Jinping.
