The local police chief in Ahmedabad states that 204 bodies were recovered from the Air India 171 flight website.

The flight crashed shortly after taking off from the Indian city, transporting at least 242 people.

The airline declared in a declaration that the plane transported 169 Indian citizens, 53 British citizens, one Canadian and Seven Portuguese.

The London authorities confirmed that the plane was due to the ground at the city’s Gatwick airport at 18:25 local time (17: 25 GMT).

The Ani news agency reports that at least 90 emergency response workers are distributed on the accident site.
