Uromi Killings: Gov Yusuf Lauds Tinubu, visiting Okpehbolo’s prompt response – Thage

The Governor Yusuf of the State of Kano praised President Bola Tinubu for his rapid response to the recent killing of 16 hunters in Uromi, in the state of Edo.

Yusuf made the praise when the governor on Monday Okpehbolo of the state of Edo, made a visit of condolences to the government and the people of the state for the murder, to the government chamber, Kano, Monday.

He said he was struck by the proactive response of the president to the accident, which included the arrest of many suspicious authors.

He also praised Okpehbolo for his rapid response to the murders, which included his immediate race on the scene and engaged with the Hausa community in Uromi on the matter.

The Governor also praised him for the condolence visit to the state for the accident and urged him to maintain his promise to compensate for the families of the victims of the murders.

Yusuf described the accident as unfortunate, saying that Nigeria is a country of different ethnic groups, which should be able to tolerate each other.

“We are a country of people of different extraction. We should be able to tolerate each other, live peacefully and be the custodian of our brothers,” he said.

He appealed to the people of the State to exercise patience on the matter, since the state government in collaboration with the Federal Government and the government of the Edo State are working hard to ensure that justice is done.

Previously, Okpehbolo said he was in Kano to express his condolences to the government and the people of the State of Kano for the unfortunate accident.

He said he had already taken measures including the arrest of 14 suspicions and his commitment with the members of the Hausa community to Uromi, sympathizing with them and ensuring that justice would be done on the matter.

The members of the Governor’s entourage included the leaders of the Hausa and the communities of Arewa residing in the Edo State.
