Vandal Transformer suspected of being arrested at Akwa Ibom

Police operations in Akwa Ibom have arrested two suspects for alleged vandalization of transformers at Ikot Imoh Village in the area of the IKOT abasi local government in the state.

Spokesman for the State Police Command, Timfon John, revealed this in a statement on Saturday at UYO.

John said the operators arrested the suspects at 5:45 on Thursday.

He said the arrest followed a suspicious activity report around the transformer installation in the village.

“Upon arrival at the scene, officers met a group of people who tried to damage the transformer.

“Two suspects were arrested, and other gang members fled from the scene after seeing the police,” John said.

“Items that are restored at the scene include: Two flat spanners 17 combinations, one hose pipe, one large task cutter, and one key to the pipe with a socket,” the spokesman added.
