Wike: I will stay in PDP while I work for Tinubu

The Minister of the Territory of the Federal Capital (FCT), Nyesom Wike, said that he will not lack the Democratic Party of people (PDP) despite having served in the administration of President Bola Tinubu.

Wike has made it known in a recent interview with BBC Pidgin, stating that his commitment to the PDP remains intact even if he contributes to the success of the Federal Government to the led by the congress.

“I can’t do it, I’m not afraid: how will I build a house and now you ask me to leave the place?” Wike questioned.

“It’s you who will leave the house, not me who built it. Do you want to ruin a house that I built? I will not allow you. I will not go, I will stay there.”

The former governor of the state of the rivers, who was at the center of the dispute for his loyalty since he joined the Tinubu cabinet, insisted that being in opposition should not be equipped with arrogance or impunity.

“The opposition does not show impunity or arrogance. It is the party to power that makes impunity and arrogance because we are in power,” he said.

Making a blow against some interested parties of the South-East PDP, Wike criticized the former governors Achike Udenwa and Sam Egwu, accusing them of having issued empty threats despite the lack of political force in their respective states.

β€œAchike Udenwa is a former governor of IMO and does not have a single member of the national assembly. He has not even given his party three percent of the votes, yet he is threatening.

Sam Egwu does not have a member of the national assembly and has not produced a governor, but is threatening. It is empty: which threat is issuing? “

On the contrary, Wike stressed that its political structure produced results, including a governor and members of the national assembly, but has abstained from threats.

Speaking in the general elections of 2027, the Minister of FCT excluded the possibility of applying to the presidency, stating that he would not contest the man who is currently serving.

“They don’t contest him anymore. Should I contest against someone I am working with? Who would win it if not he (Tinubu)?”

Wike also criticized those that described as fraudulent practices within the PDP, warning that this behavior would be the ruin of the party.
