13 Die in Zamfara Mining Pit Rolrapse

At least 13 people were killed after the collapse of the mining hole at the Kadauri mining site in the area of ​​the Maru Regional Government in the state of Zamfara on Thursday.

The closest community residents told reporters on Saturday that the hole surrendered while the miners worked underground.

They added that some other people remained caught underground while emergency respondents struggled with panic to save the situation.

Executive Secretary of the Zamfara State Solid Mineral Development Agency, Nasiru Bamanga, confirmed the incident.

He, however, said the initial report of the incident was still vague.

He promised to give direction to the media when he returned from the accident.
