The People’s Action Party (APP) on Sunday announced its candidates for the governorship, Senate and House of Assembly elections in Lagos State.
The candidates emerge by consensus during party primaries conducted in several parts of the state.
In his remarks at the end of the exercise, Chairman of the APP Election Committee, Mr Nobert Onwumelu, said the candidates emerged through consensus in line with the Election Law and the party’s constitution.
Onwumelu said the Election Law regulates direct primaries or consensus arrangements for the emergence of candidates.
He added that the party adopted the latter.
He said Mrs. Abiola Adeyemi emerged as the party’s gubernatorial candidate, while Rev. Adewale Ajayi was confirmed as the party’s candidate for Lagos West Senatorial District.
Onwumelu said the party also produced candidates for several State Assembly constituencies.
