2027 elections: don’t abandon Tinubu, former gubernatorial candidate Nataro tells Nigerian elite

Mallam Salihu Isa Nataro, a former Kebbi State governorship candidate and strong supporter of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, has appealed to elites and youths to enlighten the rest of the Nigerian populace on the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the last three years.

According to Mallam Nataro, the current administration has achieved what the combination of Jonathan and Buhari administrations failed to achieve during their tenures.

In a statement on Sunday, Nataro noted that the ongoing tax reform under Tinubu’s administration has facilitated local and international businesses, adding that customs reforms are starting to lift people out of hunger and poverty.

He said such poverty and hunger were forced on Nigerians by Buhari’s agricultural policies of closing borders even when local farmers were not prepared to supply the nation’s food needs.

He said: “Tinubu has improved the agricultural sector through livestock farming from Brazil, Bola Ahmed Tinubu recently introduced vocational training to enable youth to be self-sufficient as well as educational loans to help Nigerian students with their financial needs.

“Jagaban has initiated one of the best and modern infrastructure to bring all Nigerians together through transportation channels through Calabar Coastal Road and Sokoto – Badagri Road among others to facilitate exchange of goods and services”

“President Tinubu has disbursed huge sums of money to state governors to give meaning to life and reduce over-dependence nationwide.”

He, however, said the gesture made the governors the richest public officials in Africa, regretting that the opposition did not blame the governors for failure to spend the money on priority projects, but continued to attack the president through “failed propaganda”.

Nataro, a supporter of public sector reform, said that while he supports Tinubu’s administration, he totally disagrees with obtaining foreign loans and how the federal government has failed to increase pension eligibility from 15 to 20 years.

Mallam Nataro called on President Tinubu to try by all means to use the remaining period to industrialize the country through international investors and support local billionaires to invest massively with little fiscal incentives to reduce economic pressure.
