2027: PRP eliminates Donald Duke as presidential candidate

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) has approved former Cross River State Governor, Donald Duke as its presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections.

Duke’s approval follows a review of the primary election recently held by the Primary Appeals Committee and subsequent approval of the committee’s report by the NWC.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Muhammad Ishaq, in a statement on Saturday in Abuja, said the NWC also corroborated the results of four other elections, including the governorship, Senate, House of Representatives and state House of Assembly.

Ishaq said all other candidates have been allowed to contest the 2027 general elections, except Tarauni Federal Constituency in Kano, whose primaries have been cancelled.

According to him, his party will nominate a total of 420 candidates from all elective positions in next year’s elections.
