Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has given reasons why he is working from his private residence at Umuehim Nvosi in Isialangwa South Local Government Area of ββthe state instead of working from the Government House in Umuahia, citing the dilapidated state of the Government House.
Otti who made the disclosure while inaugurating the project executed by the Mayor of Arochukwu Local Government Area, Joe Aru, at the LGA headquarters on Saturday, assured that by December this year, he would demolish the existing building and reconstruct a proper Government House in Umuahia.
βToday, I am not operating from the Government Office in Umuahia because there is no Government Office. Everywhere is damaged and decayed,β he said.

“The alternative was to use the money I was paying my pension to start renovating the Government House. However, I felt that we could operate from anywhere while working on the most important things first.
βAnd I am proud to report that before the end of this year, we will demolish those dilapidated buildings and construct buildings fit for an enlightened society like the people of Abia.β
Otti also commended the projects executed by the Mayor of the council which he said were in line with his vision for Abia State, explaining that everything his administration did, whether in the health sector, road infrastructure or any other area, was always of high quality.
