The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) has taken swift action against one of its officers who was caught on camera demanding money from a traveler at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.
Immigration Assistant Inspector II Okpravero C. Ufuoma has been suspended indefinitely pending the outcome of a disciplinary investigation, the agency announced Wednesday.

The NIS, in a statement signed by Comptroller General Kemi Nana Nandap, condemned the officerโs conduct as โshamefulโ and in direct contradiction to ongoing reforms aimed at improving service delivery and integrity.
