The Economic and Financial Crimes Eradication Commission (ECRC) on Monday arraigned Ibrahim Shuaibu at the Kaduna State High Court for alleged fraud amounting to N100 million.
The defendant was charged with seven counts of breach of trust, impersonation and obtaining information by false pretenses.
In a statement posted on his X account, the commission accused Shuaibu of falsely representing himself as the Group Executive Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) and offering to assist his victims in obtaining over 2,000 litres of petroleum products in 2017.

After receiving the funds, he did not send the product or refund the victim’s money.
However, the accused did not plead guilty to the charges.
Following his plea, the prosecutor’s legal counsel, M. Lawal, urged the court to set a trial date.
Justice Darius Khobo ordered the accused to be remanded in EFCC custody.
