Garcia was shown a straight red card in the 11th minute for a foul on Monaco’s Takumi Minamino, who was clear in front of goal after a poorly placed pass from goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

Monaco continued to press and got their reward in the 71st minute when substitute George Ilenikhena fired past Ter Stegen to secure victory in their first appearance on the main stage in five years in Europe’s elite club competition.
