Naira earned N36 to trade N1,540/$1 at the official window

The Naira traded N1,540/$1 at the official window on Friday.

Data from the Nigerian Autonomous Foreign Exchange Market (NAFEM) showed that the figure was N36 lower than the N1,576/$1 the currency traded at the official window on Wednesday.

The Naira continued its slide against the dollar in the parallel section of the forex market and traded at N1,700/$1 compared to N1,695/$1 the previous day, representing a loss of N5 for the local currency.

The Naira, however, gained N5 against the British Pound to trade at N2,265/Β£1 compared to N2,270\Β£1 previously.

The Canadian dollar traded flat at N1,280| CA$1.

The Naira closed flat against the Euro and traded at ₦1,860/€1.
