Finally, Tinubu appoints Ogunjimi as an accountant G

Shamseldeen Babaunde Ogunjimi will arrive as AGF on March 7, 2025


President Bola Ahmed Tinubu appointed Shamsedeen Babaunde Ogunjimi as the new general accounting of the Federation, AGF, after a rigorous selection process.

Ogunjimi was at the end of last year exploited by the Presidency as AGF of acting, but his appointment in acting skills was determined by his predecessor, Dr. Oluwatoyin Sakirat Madein, acting in concert with the head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs Walson-Jack

Both had insisted on the fact that a rigorous appointment process was placed and that qualified candidates cross a process of recruiting leadership.

Apparently, Ogunjimi, in the end he surprised the ribbon in front of the other candidates who took the exam.

According to the spokesperson for Psssidential, Bayo Onanuga, his appointment was approved today, Tuesday 4 March 2025.

The appointment, he said: “He enters into force from March 7, 2025, the same day on which the historical operator Oluwatoyin Madehin will retire”.

Onanuga’s declaration added: “Ogunjimi, 57 years old, was appointed for the first time as Madehin’s successor last December.

“A selection committee later chose it through a competitive, rigorous and merit -based process that involves the administrators of the accounts in the Federal Civil Service.

“The Committee has conducted the process through three phases: a written evaluation, a test of ICT competence and oral interviews.

“The selection process underlines the commitment of President Tinubu in promoting transparency, excellence and competence in the main positions of public service.

“Ogunjimi graduated from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, in 1990 with a degree in accounting. He also obtained a master’s degree in accounting and finance at the University of Lagos.

“He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accounts of Nigeria and the Tax Institute of Nigeria.

“President Tinubu congratulates Ogunjimi for his appointment and urges him to absorb his duties at the service of Nigeria with integrity, professionalism and dedication to the service of Nigeria.”
