‘The number without humility is zero,’ Atiku accused Wike of having a lack of character

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, said that on Saturday the Minister of Federal Capital (FCT), Nyesom Wike, had character problems.

Atiku reacts to the comments credited to the former Governor of the State Rivers about events that lead to the 2023 general election.

Wike in a statement issued by his aide, Lere Olayinka, swear that he will frustrate the ambitions of the President of the former President 2027.

The Minister also claimed that he was chosen in front of the former Governor of the State Delta, Ifeanya Okowa, by a committee formed by the Democratic Party (PDP) of the people to elect a running partner for Atiku after the last winning the party’s presidential election in 2022.

However, in a statement entitled: “Learning without character is the same as zero,” issued by his aide, Paul Ibe, a former vice president clarified that Okowa was chosen in front of Governor Rivers because of its quality character.

The statement reads: “While we understand that bitterness often finds expressions in the wrong aggression, we must remind Mr. Wike and his team that the bitter heart is unable to charity, also does not inspire unity, healing, or truth.

“Once again, the facts have been twisted in an attempt to despair to rewrite history.

“Let’s explain: There are no rules or laws set on the selection process of the ongoing couples. Committees, Consultations, and Recommendations are advice.

“The final decision is merely and exclusively with the presidential candidate, in this case, Atiku Abubakar. This is a constitutional and strategic choice, not a popularity contest.

“Assuming, but it does not conceded that Wike has 13 votes and Okowa has 2 – like a university that gives the title ‘in learning and in character” – Someone must ask: what is the value of the voice if the character score is zero?

“Leadership is not just about numbers; this is about the temperament, dignity, and ability to unite. A man can boast of numbers, but if his behavior does not have mercy and humility, the numbers are empty.

“We did not apologize for choosing Dr. Ifeanya Okowa as a couple who was running in 2023. The decision was based on a combination of intelligence, calmness, and state.

“We have been justified by Mr. Wike’s public behavior at the Rivers State where he has served as Governor and in Abuja since becoming Minister of FCT, who has made it very clear why he was not suitable for the role of the Vice President in the ticket intended to unite, not dividing.

“We urged Mr. Wike and his social media spokesman to fight the temptation to do a sermon about religious piety during Ramadan and lend, while simultaneously fanning disputes. We should not reduce the sacred period into a tool to stab small politics.

“The task of rebuilding our party and our nation is a serious task. It’s time to move beyond the bruised ego and focus on what is truly important: the future of Nigeria and the welfare of its people!”
