Former Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig.-Gen. Maharazu Tsiga (Retd), said on Thursday that he lived alive from the kidnappers by God’s mercy.
Tsiga stated this when he and 18 other victims were reunited with their families by the National Security Advisor (NSA), Nuhu thousand, in Abuja.
Tsiga regained his freedom after spending 56 days in captivity.
He was kidnapped from his hometown in Tsiga, the area of the Bakori regional government in the state of Katsina on February 5, along with nine other residents.
The former NYSC boss said that his safe return must be celebrated.
He said: “The day before yesterday, on the mountain where I lived, suddenly, we only looked around, we saw the hyena paraded around us to get the food. And what kind of food? We, humans.

“We who experience that place, we always live with snakes, scorpions.
“And one bad experience, especially for those of us that they know our rank, every time they are attacked, sincerely speak, they take us out, so that the plane can hit us.
“But you know God is compassionate.
“When the rocket was sent to us, it did not explode. They brought the rocket and kept it in where I slept so I immediately came and touched it, it would explode.
“And that’s why I tell you, God is compassionate.”
Former NYSC DG also revealed that the nature of the food they eat is another threat to his health.
