President Bola Ahmed Tinubu praised the Ansar-UD-deen company of Nigeria as a historical and critical force in the construction of the nation, asking the group to deepen his partnership with the government in facing the social and economic challenges of Nigeria.
Delivering his message to the opening of the eleventh three -year national conference of the company held in Abeokuta, the president Tinubu, represented by the deputy governor of the State of Ogun, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, said that the lasting impact of Ansar-UD-deen on Islamic education, the moral empowerment and the development of the community made it a “pillar of our national fabric”.
“For over a century, the Ansar-UD-deen company has supported the cause of Islamic education and the development of the community in Nigeria,” said the president.
“From the establishment of schools and health centers to support the spiritual and social needs of its members, your impact is visible among the generations, in particular in your ability to cultivate people who touch God, intellectually and socially responsible.”
During the description of the theme of the conference – “Islam and Muslims: responsibility and relevance in a pluralistic world” – as timely, Tinubu invited Muslims to balance a strong faith with a wider civil commitment.
“In a world increasingly characterized by the diversity of thought, conviction and culture, Muslims must continue to be ambassadors of justice, compassion and peaceful coexistence,” he added.
The president also stressed that the renewed agenda of the hope of his administration aims to build “a more inclusive, safe and prosperous Nigeria”, but he warned that these objectives cannot be achieved without the involvement of institutions based on credible and value -based.
“These objectives cannot be achieved without the support and partnerships of credible organizations and guided by value such as the Ansar-UD-deen company,” he said.
“I urge you to remain firm in your noble activities and continue to serve as a force for unity, progress and enlightened citizenship.”
In a main lesson, Professor Mustapha Olalekan Arikewuyo highlighted the role of Muslims in promoting peaceful coexistence in a pluralistic society.
“We all have to respect the rights and dignity of others, regardless of their background or faith,” he added, adding that Muslims also have a duty to promote civic participation and cultural exchanges.
In support of this point of view, the Chancellor of the Council of Admission and Joint enrollment, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, accused the members of the company of “tolerating each other, be good ambassadors and embrace peace and harmony”.
Previously in his welcome observations, the national president of the Ansar-UD-deen company, dr. Abdul-Rafiu Ademola Sanni, said that the three-year gathering was not only a way to reflection, but a commitment to deepen the work of society in education, in moral awakening, social justice and economic empowerment.
“This conference acts as a platform to reflect on our results, evaluate our challenges and strategies for the future,” said dr. Sanni.
“Our goal remains unwavering: educational advancement of the Towards, moral elevation and research of social justice”.
