Feyisayo Ogunbiyi

The state government of Ogun provided for a total of N56.038,958,560.71 for the operations of the Chamber of the State Assembly for a period of five years, from 2021 to 2025, revealed the investigation into the times of the platform.

The allocation, distributed on five annual budgets, covers the costs for the legislative arm of 26 members and its associated institutions, including the commission of the assembly service.

While the figures reflect the approved budgets, the actual implementation remains uncertain due to the lack of data in the open state portal, the source of the information.

A distribution of the figures shows that in 2021 the State provided for N4.294.721.840.27 for the legislator, including N238.085.914.76 for the commission for the assembly service and N4.056.635,925.51 for the assembly itself.

In 2022, the budget went up to N7.015.392,326.60, marking an increase of over n2 billion compared to the previous year.

By 2023, between the crisis of the scarcity of national currency, the allocation has increased further to N9.127.808,366.25.

The trend continued upwards in 2024, with the assembly received an approved budget of N14.412.074.275.34, a reflection of the inflationary pressures and economic changes in the country.

For 2025, the state has already allocated N21.188.961.752.25 for the assembly chamber, the highest in the course of five years.
