Onyema Football Club have secured their place in the final of the 2026 Imo State Football Association League after defeating Hawks FC 8-7 on penalties following a 1-1 draw in normal time.

The win keeps Onyema FC on course for a spot in the Nationwide League Division Two playoffs, as the Imo FA League champions will earn their state ticket to the national playoffs.

Onyema FC will now await the winner of the second semi-final between Elite FC and Akabo United FC. Elite FC secured their place in the semi-finals with a comfortable 2-0 win over Evermore FC, while Akabo United FC automatically advanced to the semi-final.

The winner of the match between Elite FC and Akabo United FC will face Onyema FC in the 2026 Imo State Football Association League final.

The decider match is scheduled for Thursday, July 9, 2026, at the Dan Anyiam Stadium Practice Pitch, Owerri, with kick-off set for 10am.

The winner of the final will be crowned champions of the 2026 Imo State Football Association League and will represent Imo State in the Nationwide League Division Two playoffs.
