Gov Yusuf freed claims for the monthly payments of N2BN to Kwankwaso

The Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has rejected the new accusation that his government paid Rabiu Kwankwaso, one of its predecessors, N2 billion monthly.

He reacted to the accusations made by the former Secretary of the State Government, Baffa Bichi.

The new governor is freeing Bichi from his duties.

Yusuf, who spoke to 484 members of the Regional Government Council in the Kano State Government Building on Sundays, described the claim as “baseless, evil, and attempt to be discouraged to mislead the public.”

He said: “There is no truth in the claim that the Senator Kwankwaso received N2 billion from the state government. This is a complete fabrication.

“Kwankwaso is a person with integrity and sacrifice. He never asked this government to one naira or interfere in his finances.”

Governor Yusuf suggested that Bichi’s comments come from bitterness for his removal from the office and accused that former SSG failed to meet expectations while in government.

“You are in the office for more than a year and do not cause such worries. Now after you come out, you suddenly find mistakes? This is not accountability; this is revenge,” Yusuf said, looking unhappy.
