Nedc to break the social health insurance scheme for the vulnerable population

The North East Development Commission (Nedc) has disclosed the plan to break the health insurance regime for the vulnerable population throughout the North -Ast in the first quarter of this year to take care of the vulnerable populations such as displaced shoes, small traders and other economically disadvantaged groups that have not subscribed to the national health insurance system that is mainly aimed at the sectoral formal.

This was revealed by the commission’s hygiene, nutrition and health instance, dr. Batula Isa Mohammed while speaking for lunch of free cataract medical care for over 2,500 people in the area of ​​the local government of Gerei in the state of Adamawa, organized by the Commission in collaboration with the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) to bring health services to the Porta del Popolo.

He explained that awareness is in line with the mandate of the Commission to exploit the resources to improve the conditions of the people of the North East and has closed the gaps especially in the post -insurgency era.

He said that there is no better way to fill these gaps especially in the health sector than to collaborate with the Nigeria Medical Association to undertake this exercise which is currently underway in all six States of the North East.

Also speaking, the vice -president of the Nigeria Medical Association of the chapter of the State of Adamawa, dr. Nathaniel Birdling said that the 3 -day free medical sensitization was made possible by (Nedc and NMA as a way to help people in their immediate communities to bring health services at hand.

Dr. Nathaniel added that their goal is to perform 200 surgical interventions, 2000 consultations for the eyes in which drug lessons and medical eyes will be given to people for free.

For their part, Gerei’s district leader, who is also the Ubandoma of Adamawa Dr, Ibrahim Mustapha and President Gerei Local Government, represented by the vice -president, Mrs. Luri Zafania, praised Nedc and NMA for bringing awareness to the doors of their people.

They invited individuals, groups and public spirit organizations to join the government to bring help to people in particular in health and in other sectors that require collaborations and enormous investments.
