A faction from the Labor Party loyal to the National Party Chairperson, Julius Abure, has produced 26 leadership candidates for the July 12 Regional Government Election in Lagos.
The chairman of the faction in the state, Father Dayo Ekong, revealed this to journalists on Saturday at Lagos.
The Independent Election Commission of the State Lagos (LASEC) said that only three LP factions were there with a different name in the state.
However, said only one faction sent an invitation to monitor the preliminary selection.
The Commission said that he had written a letter to the Independent Election Commission (Inec (for advice on the problem before the election.

Ekong told reporters that candidates appeared in the party’s preliminary election, which was carried out in 26 locations in the state on Friday.
He said the preliminary election was carried out for 26 out of 57 local councils, added that the party would not be a leadership candidate field for 30 other people for strategic reasons.
The chairman registered Ikeja, Surulare, Agege, Igbogbo-Baiyeku, West Lagos Island, East Lagos Island, and Ajeromi-Ifelodun as several regions where the party would not reduce leadership candidates.
He said the main thing for Oshodi/Isolo LGA will be rescheduled to produce 27 candidates planned for election.
