Kaduna: the acquisition of skills is our path to self -sufficiency – Commissioner

Governor UBA Sani aims to produce a qualified workforce that not only will entrust it to young people, but will allow technological companies to employ them after having acquired the relevant skills.

The commissioner for innovation and technology, Mrs. Patience Fakai, who made this known to the quarterly ministerial briefing held in Sir Kashim Ibrahhhhh, also explained that the governor is focused on the development of human capital.

Mrs. Fakai said that the Governor UBA Sani built three cities of acquisition of skills in the city of Soba, the cities of Rigachikun and Samarun Kataf, located respectively in areas 1, 2 and 3 senators.

“Together, these three cities should graduate 12,000 young people in the first year and 24,000 within the second year of activity in 13 commercial areas,” he added.

According to her, some of the skills that will be taught include welding, aluminum manufacture, fashion design and installation of solar panels, adding that “our young people will also receive certifications and are collaborating with NBTE for this program.

The commissioner also stated that the governor wants to transform the Panteka market into an industrial center, adding that he has about 38,000 craftsmen who work in areas such as welding and manufacturing, carpentry and carpentry and masonry.

Mrs. Fakai has also revealed that Panteka craftsmen will also get the certification of the qualification framework of national skills “from the cities of skills that will allow them to improve because they already have the relevant skills.”

The commissioner also said that his ministry had organized career fairs in “collaboration” with Joberman and Mastercard Foundation, who connected over 300 people looking for work with employers “.

‘”Joberman has also established work centers both in the parts of the North and in the south of the State. These centers offer young people the opportunity to verify if there are available jobs and if they are suitable to apply.

According to the commissioner, the state government of Kaduna has “format 5,100 women in the tics, which were tagged arewa ladies-4-tech, in collaboration with Data Science Nigeria (DSN) and Google.org.”

The Commissioner for Business innovation and technology has also revealed that “we have successful stories of over 60 women who have achieved work in various sectors after training”.

He also said that his ministry allowed the training of 500 children by UNICEF and that the trainees were supported with start -up packages, adding that 22 children in conflict with the law were also trained in football and in the barber.

Mrs. Fakai also said that the state of Kaduna hosted the third summit of the Nigeria Computer Society to promote the knowledge and innovation of the TICs, adding that the National Council on communication and the digital economy assigned the State the second classified for the development of human capital in the ICT Tic.

The commissioner also said that “we are also the first state of the country to launch the contents of Ai and digital literacy in Hausa in order to fill the digital gap.
