The police killed the alleged bandit, saving five hostages in Katsina

Police operations in Katsina on Thursday thwarted the kidnapping efforts in the state.

Spokesman for the State Police Command, Abubakar Sadique, revealed this in a statement on Saturday in Katsina.

He said the operators also killed one allegations of bandits and saved five people who were kidnapped in the operation.

Sadique said: “On May 22, 2025, around 2215 hours, a tribal call was received in the Malumfashi Division that some armed men suspected of attacking Unguwar Lado and Karo Village from Malumfashi LGA, Katsina State. Led by DPO, Police Operative Team responded quickly into scenes and rapid views.

“During the operation, a famous bandit, Audu Kushin, ‘M’ from the village of Tsamiyar Maigoro, was successfully neutralized.

“Unfortunately, five kidnapping victims were shot and injured by the attackers.

“The injured victims were rushed to the Malumfashi General Hospital due to immediate medical attention. Efforts are being intensified to ensure the arrest of the suspects who escaped.

“This successful operation is part of an ongoing order attack on bandits and kidnapping, showing the commitment of commands to protect life and property in the state.”
