Jef’s appeals, others produce results while Jusun cancels the strike

Justice Kekere-Eekun, CJN

The calls and appeals for a significant dialogue between the Union of Nigeria (Jusun) judicial staff and the interested authorities produced results while the union suspended their strike to give the opportunity of a dialogue between the government and the union to face their grievances.

The union announced that he has canceled his national strike that began on Monday after a meeting with the CJN and the main parties concerned, granting the government a month to meet their suspended requests.

The Union decision came after a key meeting with the representatives of Chief Justice of Nigeria, the judge Kudirat Kekere-Eekun and other important parties concerned.

Tuesday the judicial editors forum (Jef) urged the union of the judicial staff of Nigeria (Jusun), to engage in a fruitful dialogue in an attempt to end the persistent industrial action in the country.

Jef in a statement in Lagos, signed by his president, Samuel Popola urged the parties to return to the dialogue room and make sure that a fruitful broken is reached in the interest of the public happy.

“The forum of judicial editors, as stakeholders of the judiciary, lends its voice together with other well -intentioned Nigerians, to ask for a peaceful resolution of the industrial action in progress by Jusun.

“Requests are clear, but the most important things at this point is like tracing a way to follow and guaranteeing a progressive result.

“Actions like these are not rare in a democratic society in which the rule of law prevails, however, it is instructive that the parties allow greater wisdom, at least we allow things to collapse.

“The experiences of disputes, lawyers, judicial and non -judicial staff, including visitors who have been returned home for frustration on Monday, are quite sad.

“In a democratic pantry, the judiciary remains the only temple of justice and the last hope of the common man, who literally” places life at the foot of the court “, while seeking justice.

“If the court classrooms remain closed, it also means that the expectations and/or hopes of many parties in question can be disappointed.

“With this, I call the federal government and Jusun, to return to the negotiation table and make aware efforts to find lasting solutions to the issues raised,” he added.
