The University of Babcock in the Ilishan-Remo area of the State of Ogun has expelled a student, Oladipoupo Siwajuola, for presumably violating the university regulations, including the commitment in fetish practices, drug avenge and dishonor.
The director of marketing and communication of Babcock University, dr. Joshua Suleiman, announced it in a statement on Wednesday 4 June 2025.
The disappearance of Siwajuola in early May 2025 attracted public attention after his mother publicly accused the university on social media of having neglected its duty of diligence.
However, Suleiman said that the student intentionally left Campus on April 28 without permission.
The university spokesman said the student disguised himself in a hooded sweatshirt and cleared himself through the gate of the teacher hospital.
“The disappearance of the student was neither accidental nor due to university negligence. It was a deliberate act that involved multiple incorrect conduct that violated the standards outlined in the Babcock University students,” said Suliiman.
Suleiman revealed that Siwajuola was returned to the campus by his father on May 15, stating that the student was subsequently summoned by the Department of Security Services for the interrogation.

Suleiman said that the student, during his voluntary declaration, which was subsequently verified in front of the disciplinary committee, admitted to several violations, including the purchase of a black soap from a herbalist for N100,000.
He said that Siwajuola’s declaration contradicts his mother’s claim to have provided soap for a condition of the skin.
Babcock University spokesman added that the student revealed that the soap was intended for ritual purposes related to a scheme often called “Yahoo Yahoo Plus”, a term that indicated a fraud on the internet combined with fetish practices.
It was also said that the student confessed to the involvement in drugs, having borrowed N500,000 through a loan online loan platform to finance game activities and impersonating another student to open a bank account.
“In addition, Siwajuola admitted that he sold his personal phone without authorization, falsely claiming his father’s consent to the buyer,” said Suleiman.
Contrary to the statements of his mother who was found by the friends of the secondary school, the university clarified that the student was discovered by Sodiq’s mother – whose son was a friend of Siwajuola in Lagos – who found him at their home and informed his family in the middle of the online dispute.
Following investigations, Babcock University observed that Siwajuola was responsible for multiple infringements, including the departure not authorized by the campus, the possession and use of fetish materials, distribution of drugs, imitation, dishonesty and unauthorized sale of personal properties.
In accordance with its disciplinary policies and best international practices, Babcock University has announced that Siwajuola’s enrollment has been revoked with immediate effect.
“While we understand the emotional toll that this decision could have on the family, our main responsibility is to guarantee the safety and moral integrity of all students to our care,” said Suleiman.
