Death Toll Journalists in Gaza rose to 225

The number of journalists killed in Gaza since October 2023 has increased to 225.

The Gaza government office said in a statement on Thursday.

“Since the beginning of the destruction war on the Palestinian population, the number of journalists killed has increased to 225 after the death of four more people,” the statement said.

“We call on the federation of international journalists, Palestinian journalist syndicates, and journalistic organizations around the world to condemn this systematic crime against journalists and Palestinian media workers in the Gaza Strip.”

Earlier on Thursday, Deputy Director of the Palestinian Journalist Syndicate (PJS), Tahseen Al-Astal, told Ria Novosti that four media workers from the Arab Satellite TV channel were killed in Israeli air strikes.

The strike reportedly targeted their tents near the Al-Ahli Arab Baptist Hospital in Gaza City.

The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) and PJ condemned the murder and called for an immediate investigation of their deaths.

According to the Gaza Ministry of Health, more than 4,400 Palestinians have been killed and more than 13,400 were injured in the pocket since March 18.

Israel continued its strike in Gaza that day, quoting Hamas’s rejection to accept plans in the United States to extend the ceasefire and release hostages.

The ceasefire has expired on March 1.

In early March, Israel also cut electricity into the main desalination factory in Gaza and prevented the entry of humanitarian aid trucks.
