Be a good NYSC ambassador, DG urges the members of the body

The members of the body was advised to serve their homeland diligently as good ambassadors of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

The general manager of the NYSC, the brigade general Olakunle Nafiu, gave this accusation on Tuesday at the Permanent Orientation field Magaji Dan-Yamusa Nys, Keffi, Nasarawa State.

He said that the law of the NYSC, the statute of the regime and the establishment of the Federal Republic of Nigeria must be strictly respected by all members of the body to have a year of success.

General Nafiu also recommended to the members of the body to embrace the cultural beliefs of their host communities, adding that no culture was superior to another.

He ordered them to actively participate in all the field activities, freely interact with each other and make sure they create harmonious relationships.

While presented his report on the situation of the field to the general manager, the coordinator of the state of the NYSC Nasarawa, Mrs. Salamatu Muhammad, said that a total of 2,358 body members consisting of 1,150 males and 1,208 females were successfully recorded.

He added that since their arrival in the field, they have shown considerable enthusiasm, robustness and disciplined calm.

At the beginning of the day during the oath ceremony that was testified by the general manager of the NYSC, the Governor of the State of Nasarawa, Abdullahi Sule, represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Sport, the Hon. Kwanta Yakubu, he urged the members of the body to show a high sense of commitment by contributing with their share to the development of the state.
