‘Very silly for the Nigerian government to connect Kanu with Endstars protest’ —ipob

The IGBO separatist group that is prohibited, the native of Biafra (IPOB), has described connecting its imprisoned leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, with the #endsars 2020 protest not only silly but also the indictment that exploded the Nigerian judicial process.

In a statement on Friday by the Secretary of the Media and Publicity, Emma Powerful, the Pro-Biafran group, said what happened at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Thursday where the Federal Government connected Kanu with protests, was the last strict effort to blame its leader for the #endsars rebellion.

Strong also asked the international community to take urgent and critical notice about the “falsity” of the federal government and the ongoing “fake” trial from the Pro-Biafran leader in front of James Omotosho judges from the Federal High Court, Abuja, insisted that the trial was a conspiracy that was built on the head of counterfeit and media manipulation.

“Thursday, June 19, 2025, marking important moments in cases originating from the beginning, supported by poisonous cocktails, media manipulation, evidence fraud, and campaigns calculated to criminalize self -determination,” Powerful said.

“Following the conclusions from the cross examination, the prosecution led by the Head of Awomolo, San, has closed the case.

“In response, the defense team led by the leading head of Kanu Agabi, San, indicated his readiness to submit a ‘submission without a case’, quoting the total prosecution failure to determine all the evidence that connects Mazi Nnamdi Kanu with violations known to the law, let alone terrorism.

“As a result, Judge Omotosho postponed this case until 18 July 2025, to adopt the final written address.

“But let it be stated by absolute clarity: what happened in court yesterday is not just a defeat for the government and that is a full indictment of Nigerian state harassment of the judicial process.

“Apart from the courtroom regulated by the restrictive reporting rules, this is a problem of public records that the witnesses of the last prosecution-PW5-Eee, an intelligence officer who should be crashed under the weight of a cross-examination by Dr. Onyechi Ikpeazu who is very good, San. The witness evasive, contradictory, and patetetically.

“So, it is his appearance that even the main advisor to prosecution, Awomolo, San, must warn him in an open court. Judge Omotosho looks annoyed and at some points forcing witnesses to answer the basic questions ‘yes or no’ that he deliberately avoid.

“The government’s latter effort in sustaining this collapsed case is a ridiculous attempt to blame Mazi Nnamdi Kanu for the Protest #Endsars-Ground led by the grassroots youth that began in Ughelli, Delta state.

“According to PW5-Eee, national protests against police brutality were incited by Kanu broadcasts, and the government now claimed that he was the mastermind. This despair narrative was not just intellectually bankrupt

“The assessment report that is said to be binding to IPOB with security violations was not even produced in 2020 when this incident should have occurred. It was made only this month – June 2025, a surprising recognition that had to provoke anger from every proper human being.

“Autopsy reports and coronary certificates are not signed, cannot be verified, and are filled with forgery. People who are not mentioned that ‘find’ these ghost bodies are easily absent from all cases of prosecution. This is not law -this is fiction.

“We were forced to ask: Why did the Nigerian press continued to ignore this courtroom bomb? Why did the media house quickly publish every accusation made by DSS or prosecution, but still mute when the accusation was destroyed under supervision in the open court?

“We encourage every Nigerian and members of the international community to submit an application to a certified true copy of the daily process and see the shocking collapse of the federal government case.

“Kanu is a peaceful person. He was not tried because of violence. He was tried because he dared to speak the truth to power and demand justice for those recognized.

“History will record those who stand while injustice wearing legality clothes. It will also remember those who rose to expose it,” added the strong.
