Manchester United has presented an improved offer of more than 60 million for striker Brentford Bryan Mbeumo, reports BBC Sport.
This month, United was rejected by the player of 25 £ 45 million more to £ 10 million in accessories.
The conversations about the Cameroon striker, which would become the second signature of the summer club, will continue this week.
After the capture of £ 62.5 million of Matheus Cunha de Wolves, United is eager to further strengthen Ruben Amorim’s team before returning for preseason training on July 7.
The new Tottenham manager, Thomas Frank, was anxious to meet with Mbeumo, while there has also been interest in the striker of other clubs in the Champions League.
The sources have suggested that Brentford would want at least the same rate that the wolves have received for Cunha before accepting the sale of a player who still has a year left in his contract.
As with Cunha, the experience of the Premier League of Mbeumo is seen as a great positive since Amorim needs players who can start running while United seeks to make a more positive start of the season than his three slow efforts under Erik Ten Hag.
Mbeumo scored the best 20 goals of his career for Brentford last season, while he also contributed nine assists to the cause of bees.
