The Chief Justice of Orji from the Federal High Court, Abuja. Has punished a staff of the Federal Aviation Ministry, Elvis Okerenyi, one year in prison for work fraud.
He was charged with independent corruption practices and other related violation commissions (ICPC) for deceiving job seekers with a guise of offering work on federal civil service.
ICPC spokesman, Demola Bakare, said in a statement on Sunday that OKERENYI gathered the number of N1 million from one Titus Tavershima under Kepura -Puraan to get a job at Federal Civil Service.

He said the law was contrary to Section 320 and could be punished based on Section 322 of the Criminal Code, Cap 532, Law of the Capital Region of Federal, 2006
The statement reads: “The defendant claimed to be guilty of his indictment based on a bargaining agreement -a defense before the Supreme Court of Oriji from the High Court of the Federal Capital City and was punished based on Section 270 (10) Acja on the accusation of one -only on the amended accusation.
“The court further punished convicted one year in prison or the N200,000.00 fine option and ordered him to return the number of N350,000.00 to Titus Tavershima, victim of his crime.”
