In a counterattack, the Lakurawa sect killed 20 in Sokoto Village

Terrorists suspected of being a member of the Lakurawa sect have reportedly killed 20 people and injured a number of others in the Kwallajiya village in the Tangaza regional government in the Sokoto state.

According to security experts, and Katsina, terrorists attacked the village on Wednesday afternoon when the villagers observed their afternoon prayers and began to shoot sporadically in what was seen as a retaliation attack after the murder of three terrorists by the community vigilante group.

And Katsina who shared the tragic incident in her X grip on Thursday said the villagers said the attackers invaded the community while the local residents were in the mosque for the prayer of Zuhr.

Quoting a resident, and Katsina wrote:

“We were in the mosque that prayed for Zuhr’s prayers when they stormed our village in quantities.

“They shot people in front of their eyes including worshipers and residents who worked on their agriculture at that time.

“They killed around 20 people. Security operations, chairperson of the regional government and several of his lies are currently in the village to attend their funerals that are ongoing today.”

Residents added that it was not the first time that the community would be attacked by the Lakurawa sect.

“I believe this is a retaliation attack as their three members, one of which was identified as one of their leaders died in an attack that failed before on the community,” the resident.

“We want the government to do something before these people destroy our people and take torral control from our community.

“It is very important for people in the villages affected by intensifying efforts to cooperate with security institutions to curb the activities of evil people in their area

“According to him, such cruelty is often assisted by information received by bandits from several villagers,” he added.
