Adeboye reaffirms the Federal Government’s commitment to the development of grassroots sport

Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Grassroots Sports Development, Hon. Anthony Adeyinka Adeboye, has assured Nigerians of the commitment of the Federal Government of Nigeria to the continued development of grassroots sports in the country.

Speaking on Thursday in Abuja, after chairing a special meeting of the Main Organizing Committee (MOC), for the upcoming National Grassroots Sports Development Summit 2026, scheduled for November 18 and 19, 2026 at the Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Adeboye revealed that the meeting focused on preparations, coordination and strategies to ensure a successful summit that will strengthen the development of grassroots sports and create sustainable avenues to discover and nurture young talents across Nigeria.

“The upcoming National Summit on Grassroots Sports Development is further testimony to the Federal Government’s continued commitment to youth and sports development in Nigeria, which obviously aligns with this government’s renewed hope agenda.

“There is a strong need to further consolidate the foundations of our sports ecosystem and this is the basic level,” he stressed.
