Fuel to the Indian aircraft engine that crashed last month seems to have been cut off shortly after taking off, a preliminary report has found.
According to the report switch in the cockpit controlled fuel controlled to the “cutoff” position.
It is said: “Engine 1 and Engine 2 Fuel cutoff switches are transmitted from running to cutoff position one by one with a one -second gap.
“N1 and N2 engines began to decrease from their takeoff value because the supply of fuel to the engine was cut off.”
Then there is confusion in the cockpit. In the voice recording, one of the pilots was heard asking the other why he “cut”. Another pilot answered that he did not do it.
It did not identify which comments made by the flight captain and which were made by the first officer. One of the pilots made the call “Mayday, Mayday, Mayday” right before the accident.
The preliminary report does not provide conclusions about how the switch is moved.
One engine can be started again, but cannot turn the flight, the report was found.
“At this investigation stage, there is no recommended action for Boeing 787-8 and/or GE Genx-1B Engine Operators and producers,” said Indian aircraft accident investigation bureau (AIB) in the report.
There is no significant bird activity observed around the aircraft flight path, the report said. The aircraft began to lose a height before crossing the airport perimeter wall, he added.
The plane crashed into a busy area, kill 241 passengers And 19 other people on the ground while burning everything around him.
The AIB report is based on the initial findings of the investigation, marking 30 days from the accident.
