Nigeria achieves global recognition through our reforms – Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has said the reforms instituted by his administration have received global attention and praise, assuring Nigerians that greater benefits from the reforms will come very soon.

The President stated this on Thursday while receiving a delegation from the Aseyori Tinubu Research Group at the State House, under the auspices of Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Jimoh Ibrahim.

President Tinubu attributed the interest of multinationals to collaborate and invest in Nigeria to the collective effort of Nigerians in various sectors, working tirelessly to achieve success in his administration’s reform agenda.

Addressing the head of the delegation, the President urged him to continue to concentrate on his UN duties and avoid any form of distraction.

“Your skills are extremely reliable and your performance at the United Nations is very impressive. You have achieved a lot at the United Nations in a short period. I am very proud of you.

“You know, this is an evolution that may not return in our history in a very, very short time, as you said. So, I want you to work harder and get a permanent seat at the United Nations,” he said.

He promised the delegation that he will continue to push for greater economic stability, building on recent achievements.

“I could say that our nation’s economy has come through the darkest tunnel. The twists and turns of democracy are there. We will continue to push for improvement. The economic recovery is here, proudly. We are running a very stable economy right now,” he said.

The President informed his guests that the student loan (NELFUND) is thriving, having just approved additional financing from funds recovered from the EFCC.

“We have a good production line; we just need to stimulate the economy for growth. We can beat our chest with bragging rights: no more ASUU strike. Today our children go to school. Security is getting better, not worse,” the president said.

President Tinubu urged the research body to continue to come up with findings that will make Nigeria stronger politically and economically.

Ambassador Jimoh Ibrahim, in his remarks, recognized the President’s leadership style in promoting peace and progress in the country.

He said the administration’s economic reforms have now cast Nigeria in a different light, adding that foreign investors are now partnering with the country in many sectors.

He attributed his successes thus far at the United Nations to the overwhelming support he received from the President.

He assured the President of his commitment to Nigeria securing a seat in the United Nations Security Council.
