Colwill: The Club World Cup will be larger than the Champions League

Chelsea defender, Levi Colwill, has predicted that the FIFA Club World Cup will be larger than the UEFA Champions League.

Colwill began the 3-0 shock about Paris Saint-Germain on Sunday, thanks to an orthopedic device of Cole Pale and the new Employment Joao Pedro.

When asked if Chelsea can take advantage of that success to win the Premier League or the Champions League, the 22 -year -old replied (BBC Sports): “Yes, definitely.

“I said at the beginning of this tournament that our plan is to win it and that people looked at me as if it were crazy. So I’m going to say exactly the same thing that now goes to the Premier League and the Champions League.

“This is the biggest trophy I have won. I think the Club World Cup will be bigger than the Champions League and we were the first team to win it.”

“It was a victory of declaration and, in the future, if we continue to win trophies, then we will all give us the love we deserve.

“But we will only know in the future. I think we are ready and see next season.”

Chelsea finished fourth in the Premier League last season and won the conference league in an impressive first season under the leadership of Manager Enzo Maresca.

It has been a significant year for the co -owners of Chelsea Todd Boehly and Clearlake capital, after obtaining their first real success since they bought the club in 2022.

His signature of a large number of young players in long contracts has proven to be unpopular with some within the football community.

But Colwill believes that Chelsea now has a winning team capable of emulating the past.

“We are a team and that is in the identity of Chelsea. It doesn’t matter what. I think players like John Terry, Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba, started that and we took it,” he said.

“All were incredible players, the best players who won a lot, but we have the best players of our team, young players surely, and that is our plan: win the biggest trophies for Chelsea.”

“We are definitely able to do it. I think we have shown it. They all said that the PSG was the best team in the world, but we won 3-0.”
