The African Athletics Confederation (CAA), under the administration of Hamad Kalkaba Malboum, made a courtesy visit to the former president of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, in his presidential library in Abeokuta, state of Ogun, Southwest, Nigeria.
President Maboum was accompanied by the president of Asian Athletics, General Dahlan Al Hamad, the general director of the Nigerian Sports Commission, the honorable Chief Bukola Olopade and the president of the Nigeria Athletics Federation, Chief Tonobok Okowa.

The team asked the former citizen number one in the country, to help boost and accelerate the development and reform of the sport of athletics throughout the continent.
During the visit, Kalcabal explained that, administratively, things can be better in the continent, stating that on some occasions, the CAA had to beg the support of World Athletics (WA).
He stressed that such pleas have reduced the pride of the continent and also stifled the delivery of appropriate considerations to African athletics.
The administrator born in Cameroon, who met the Obasanjo Chief when he was in office, was announced that the former Pretty had been selected to be one of the pillars of his last initiative, the Sports and Culture Development Foundation of Africa.
Kalcabal also requested that his consent became the head of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation, emphasizes that the Foundation will help prepare African athletes for our own interests.
Obasanjo accepted the honor that emphasized that it is open to any policy that helps sports and cultural development strives with a high level of positivity and productivity.
The former military head of state welcomed President Asian Athletics, General Dhalang. Describing Qatar’s military commander as a comrade.
He thanked the CAA for bringing the rights of host to Nigeria and the state of Ogun in particular. Obasanjo was very vocal in praise for the State. “We have facilities and we have history.”
He then added that any friend in Africa is welcome in the state, and added that they will cooperate, collaborate and associate with CAA. “We will be the best host we can be.”
Kalcabal introduced the former president a letter from the Corporation and also offered a book written by a Camersonian professor as a gift for the Presidential Library
