The Obidient movement rejected the rumors of disputes between Obi and Nenadi Usman

The National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Dr. Yunusa Tanko, has refused the rumors about the rift between the Labor Party presidential candidates in the 2023 election, Mr. Peter Obi and Acting Chairperson of the National Party, Nenadi Usman.

In a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja, Tanko described the rumors unfounded.

He said Obi remained a commitment and loyal member of the Labor Party.

“Your Honor, Peter Obi, consistently confirmed that he remains a member of the Labor Party, under the leadership of Senator Nenadi Usman,” said the Coordinator.

“He has also clearly expressed his support for all those who previously secured party tickets to compete for political positions.

“Rumor that Peter Obi has betrayed Senator Nenadi Usman is fully baseless, and disturbance.”

“Speculation began after Peter Obi attended the campaign flag from the Labor Party Governor Candidate, Dr. George Moghalu, in Anambra last weekend.

“Senator Nenadi Usman and other main stakeholders in this movement are fully aware and supporting this new development.

“Don’t forget that Mr. Peter Obi is a person with integrity, known to keep a promise. His decision to support Dr. George Moghalu, a candidate for the Labor Party Governor for Anambra, reflects the consistency.

“So far, the only person who has talked about this issue is Senator, a member of the House of Representatives, a member of the State Assembly and me. This marks a clear departure of the old political order.”

Tanko, therefore, urged the Nigerians to ignore speculation and treat them only as propaganda, built on falsehood and aim to arouse unnecessary controversy.

“Our focus remains on one goal: Building a strong movement, a united labor party and a better Nigerian. That, we will reach,” he concluded.
